I miss you Dad!

There are so many things I miss about you dad…

I miss waiting for you to come home out the dining room window, when your car would round the street and I would rush to the garage to greet you. I miss the trips you took me on to the zoo when I would ride on your back and hold onto your ears. I think of all the things you taught me that made me what I am today. Chess and bike riding and woodworking and camping. All those lifelong endeavors that I owe to you. You helped me recover when I was sick and listened when I was sad. You taught me to ride my bike twice!

I miss the days we spent together when I got to return the favor and take care of you. I miss getting you ice water and watching Indiana football and golf. I miss pushing you down the street in your chair like you pushed me down the street in my stroller. I miss your council and patience and all the life lessons I learned.

But above all… I miss you. And I’m so lucky to have been your daughter.
